Biomass-Derived Activated Carbon/Epoxy Composite as Microwave Absorbing Material

An activated carbon/epoxy composite was synthesized in which waste mango leaves biomass used as the carbon source. To create a sufficient amount of porosity biomass, simple process carbonization followed by its activation used. The morphology and material were studied SEM, TEM, BET analysis, confirmed presence macro- mesopores material. with 3 mm thickness gave highest reflection loss (RL) ? 39.57 dB at 6.48 GHz. At just 2 maximum effective absorption bandwidth (RL < 10 dB) 2.14 GHz achieved. This excellent microwave performance attributed to porous bowl-type structure, resulted large surface area, high impedance matching, subsequent attenuation microwaves conduction losses, well interfacial dipolar polarization processes. study provides that is lightweight economical, has structural stability for applications.
